Abbas joined the the group’s senior leadership team in the US in early 2022, and has now been handed the role of group president
Fresh Del Monte has announced that Mohammed Abbas has been promoted to president of the group, while retaining his chief operating officer role.
In a statement, the group said the move recognised Abbas’s “long-standing leadership, global experience, and the consistency with which he has guided our operations across regions and markets”.
Abbas has been with Fresh Del Monte for almost 20 years. For the past four, he held the position of executive vice-president and COO, having relocated to Fresh Del Monte’s headquarters in Coral Gables, Florida.
Previously, he was based in Hong Kong as senior vice-president of its Asia-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa business.
And prior to that, he was in Dubai as vice-president of its MENA fresh division.
