Italian technology specialist exhibits advanced sorting systems incorporating artificial intelligence, robotics and sensors to meet growing demand for produce quality inspections

Leading tech company Unitec returned to Fruit Logistica this week and embraced the show’s theme ‘Let’s Grow’, offering measurable results for its customers via greater efficiency in their supply chains.
Together with Unisorting and Uni Robotics, the Italian company exhibited a range of systems incorporating AI, robotics and hi-tech sensors at the event.
Those technologies can now be applied to more than 50 types of fruit, vegetables, and nuts, which means Unitec now meets a large part of the growing market demand – driven largely by major retailers – for internal and external quality inspections.
For Angelo Benedetti, president of Unitec, the company offers value to the business in its ability to combine nature and technology. “By doing so, we create solutions that support our customer’s business, respond to the needs of retailers, and meet the expectations of end consumers,” he says.

“What inspires us most is the tangible impact we have generated for the fresh produce industry, in terms of sustainability and measurable results.”
For Unitec, Fruit Logistica represents an opportunity to grow, based on direct engagement with the industry. “Through ongoing dialogue with our customers, we build connections that, together with our R&D team, we turn into innovation,” explains Nour Abdrabbo, the group’s global sales director.
“[That] innovation supports a more efficient and sustainable fresh produce industry over time. This is the foundation of our mission: We Work for Your Results.”
