President and CEO Jim Bair credits comms leader with advancing organisation’s policy priorities and member engagement

The US Apple Association has promoted Lynsee Gibbons to vice-president of communications.
It said the move recognised Gibbons’ leadership in strengthening the association’s communications, advancing its advocacy efforts, and expanding its visibility among policymakers, media, and the broader apple industry.
“Lynsee is one of those people who makes everyone around her better,” said Jim Bair, president and CEO of USApple. “She approaches every challenge with creativity, professionalism, and a genuine care for our members and our mission.”
He added: “In this time of so much information, at times too much, with Lynsee’s touch, USApple’s communications shine through and that makes us more effective.”
Gibbons is responsible for communications that focus on major policy priorities for the association, including labour reform, the Farm Bill, trade, and other speciality crop issues.
Spearheading USApple’s digital content strategy, she has apparently expanded the use of data visualisation, short-form video, and storytelling to make policymakers better aware of issues that face the industry.
“I’ve had the privilege of getting to know apple growers from across the country, and they are some of the most thoughtful, hardworking, and innovative people I’ve ever met,” said Gibbons. “I’m proud to help tell their stories and ensure their voices are heard by the people making decisions that affect their future.”
She has also overseen the growth of USApple’s NextGen Fellowship programme, which helps cultivate the next generation of apple industry leaders.
Plus she has strengthened the profile of signature USApple events, including Outlook and Capitol Hill Day.
Gibbons joined USApple in May 2023 as director of communications.
