The naturally bi-coloured Ambrosia was back in shops in March and growers have predicted a crop of 1,300 tonnes, which will be harvested across five states.

Montague Farms has encouraged consumers to express their appreciation of a friend, family member, teacher or colleague with the gift of Ambrosia this season. The company noted the apple’s blushed red skin tinged with yellow, honey flavour and fragrant aroma make for the perfect sweet gesture. Its culinary versatility also makes Ambrosia suitable for both sweet and savoury dishes.

Kissabel also returned to shelves in March with two varieties drawing the season all the way to August. Kissabel Summer is available from March until May, featuring vibrant orange skin and deep pink flesh. Kissabel Berry arrives in April and lasts until August, distinguished by its deep red flesh and tangier flavour profile.

Growers predict a modest harvest of 57,000kg for the 2026 season, so Montague Farms has encouraged consumers to get in quick to snap up the limited quantities available this year.

The red-flesh offering provides foodies with a unique addition to a wide range of dishes and Montague Farms has partnered with culinary favourites Alice Zaslavsky and Kirsten Tibbals to highlight its versatility in recipes like Kissabel ruby red roll-ups and a Kissabel apple flower tart.
