Asiafruit Congress 2011 crowd Hong Kong HK conference

Rabobank International’s Patrick Vizzone is set to open Asiafruit Congress 2012 with a keynote address on the rise of Asia.

As Asia’s star continues to rise its largest fresh produce conference event, due to be held at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on 5-7 September 2012, will offer up a host of industry-leading speakers to help delegates better understand the complex Asian market.

Patrick, who is managing director and senior relationship banker at Rabobank International Hong Kong, will kick start the conference with an in-depth analysis of Asia’s ascension and his predictions for where the Asian market will be in the next ten years.

Also set to speak are Soren Bjorn, senior vice-president of international business and global technologies at Driscoll's Strawberry Associates (US), who will discuss the topic of berry marketing in Asia, and Chang-Hwa (John) Oh of Jinwon Trading Co (South Korea), who will lead a session spotlighting Korea’s development both as an import market and an export supplier.

The fresh produce department is a key focus and battleground for Asian retailers as they seek to attract more consumers to their stores. On the last day, John Baker, CEO of Produce Marketing Australia, who has more than 30 years’ experience in fresh produce marketing and production and has delivered retail training workshops in emerging markets for the Washington Apple Commission among others, will look at what Asian retailer are doing to make their fresh produce offering more attractive to consumers.
