Colorful Harvest

Colorful Harvest, one of the faster growing produce operations on the US West Coast, has announced the completion of a new cooler facility in Mexico.

The grand opening of the new cooler included a mariachi band, local dignitaries, and a ribbon cutting ceremony, according to a company news statement.

“Our new state-of-the-art cooling capability will provide enhanced quality control to match our state of the art growing operations in Mexico. It is an important step in the expansion of our year-round berry program,” said Doug Ranno, COO and managing partner of Colorful Harvest.

The 35,000ft2 facility in central Mexico is equipped with the most modern forced air cooling tunnels and is expected to begin receiving fruit beginning this month.

Colorful Harvest produces hoop-grown strawberries, blueberries and Tupi blackberries in Mexico for both the US and Mexican markets.

The company’s Mexico growing operations help insure high quality berry supply during the winter months.

The new cooler will be called ColorMex, and includes a 10,000ft2 package make up operation, administrative offices and accommodations for visiting staff.
