The Washington Apple Commission (WAC) has married fruit to fitness for a new promotional campaign in Malaysia.

Titled Apples Everyday, Fitter Every Way!, the community engagement programme – being run in conjunction with gymnasium chain Fitness First – aims to promote the values of healthy living to all Malaysians, according to the Star Online.

The campaign was launched at Fitness First’s Paradigm Mall gym in Petaling Jaya earlier this week. Guests were treated to a half-day of activities, including fitness classes, cooking workshops and an Instagram contest.

WAC also took the opportunity to share information about the some 20 varieties it has available over the course of the season, along with recipe suggestions for apple inspired dishes. The industry body will continue to supply materials on the nutritional value of apples to Fitness First stores throughout Malaysia over the course of the year.
