Shipping group Hapag-Lloyd has announced that it is to increase rates on services from the Far East to northern Europe and the western Mediterranean, with changes coming into force on 15 June.

Rates for services from the Far East will rise by US$500 per TEU, the group said, with an increase of US$150 per TEU in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, rates for services between Asia and the eastern Mediterranean will be raised by S$300 per TEU on 1 August.

Hapag-Lloyd has also revealed that it is introducing a Peak Season Surcharge of US$150 per TEU, which will be in place for the period 1 August to 31 October.
