SanLucar has launched a new label to highlight its social development programme to German consumers.

From now on all bananas sold in German supermarkets will carry a sticker bearing the d.r.e.a.m.s. logo and the strapline “For a sunnier world. Join in!”.

The d.r.e.a.m.s. programme spans several countries where the company’s production is based including Spain, Austria, Germany, Tunisia, South Africa and Ecuador.

It enlists the help of local experts and corporate volunteers to identify and address the challenges faced by a particular community through education, nutrition and sports, while also focusing on the environment through the protection of the air, water and soil.

“The programme is based on our philosophy to offer products with the best quality and taste always in harmony with people and nature,” said Stephan Rötzer, CEO of the SanLucar Group.

“We want to contribute to a sunnier world and enable people to take charge of their lives and make their dreams come true.”

To date SanLucar has made about 30.000 dreams come true and the company says it hopes to increase this number significantly by 2020.
