French producer Idyl has revealed that its Etoile du Sud (Star of the South) branded cocktail tomatoes and Charentais melons have both been given Saveur de l’Année 2009 status, as they were in 2008.
The Saveur de l’Année label is a French mark of quality given to approximately 160 food products each year according to the results of blind tastings by consumers based on a product’s taste, appearance, smell and texture.
Both products are grown in the south of Morocco. Idyl’s cocktail tomatoes are available between October and April, while the melons are available from the month of March, the company said.
