Italy’s largest apple marketer, the Association of South Tyrolean Fruit Growers’ Cooperatives (VOG), has underlined its commitment to the international apple industry trade fair Interpoma 2008, which takes place in Bolzano, Italy on 6-8 November 2008.

'At Interpoma we really feel at home,' says VOG director Gerhard Dichgans. 'Our members' fruit is harvested in the valleys surrounding Bolzano and it is here where we focus our activities. We're very fond of the Interpoma exhibition which, during the course of its history, has been able to build a great reputation among companies in the apple sector.'

The VOG Consortium comprises 19 apple producer cooperatives, bringing together 5,600 family-run companies and a total production area of 10,500ha.

Among the various stands at this year's Interpoma, VOG will be present alongside the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce, where it will display its main products and brands – including Marlene, PGI Apples from South Tyrol and club varieties grown by its members such as Rubens, Kanzi, Modi and Pink Lady.

VOG is also playing a key role in the international congress entitled 'The apple in the world', which is running alongside Interpoma.

Mr Dichgans is due to chair the opening session following a welcome address by VOG president and South Tyrol Apple Condortium president Matthias Josef Gamper.
