Agrexco is set to export its first deliveries of easy peeler citrus varieties Or and Mor to Europe this season at the beginning of February.
The fruit, which was developed by the Israeli Volcani centre, is aimed at consumers looking for premium citrus varieties, according to the Israel-based group.
'Or and Mor were first introduced a few years ago and received a warm welcome,' said Golda Ezuz, manager of Agrexco's citrus department. 'Unlike other varieties, they are sought after by everyone and not by a specific segment, so we have high hopes for them this season.'
The first deliveries of Or will hit France, Germany, Scandinavia, the UK and other markets during the first week of February, with Mor following shortly after.
Arrivals to Europe will come in Agrexco's climate friendly vessels ensuring optimal conditions, according to the company.
