Agrexco fig

Israeli fresh produce exporter Agrexco has revealed that its first shipment of premium Negro Largo figs is on its way to Europe.

In a press statement, Agrexco said that the produce was grown in Neot Hakikar in southern Israel, and will shortly be followed by figs from Masuah in the Jordan Valley.

This year's exports will not exceed 50-60 tonnes, according to product manager Bezalel Madmon, who said that the figs were sought after because of their taste and the fact that they are residue-free.

Agrexco's figs will be sold in European countries including Italy, Russia and the UK, as well as the Far East and in South Africa.
