Mehadrin Tnuport Export (MTEX), Israel's largest private grower and exporter of fruits and vegetables, has announced that it will start shipping its new-season Medjoul dates from the third week of August.
The first dates to be shipped from Israel are grown in Eilot, an area located in the southernmost region of the country near the Red Sea.
According to MTEX, the high temperatures and dry conditions prevalent in this arid region are the principal reasons for the early ripening of the dates.
These dates from Eilot are packed under the Red Sea brand, of which MTEX is the sole exporter and which has become well known for outstanding quality in Europe’s main markets.
MTEX believes that Medjoul dates, which it supplies all year round and in a wide range of packaging, meet many of the requirements of today’s consumers, including convenience, high nutritional value, great taste and accessible price.
