French hypermarket chain E Leclerc has grouped together its local suppliers to create a new initiative to highlight the products of local producers.
In E Leclerc stores throughout the country, local products now bear a 'Les Alliances Locales' label, making them easily visible to those seeking them out.
According to a company statement, the label will encourage consumers to 'discover or rediscover regional products, while supporting the work of local producers'.
It also helps to boost consumers' interest in how food is produced and gives local producers the chance to develop relationships with consumers, the company added.
