Fresh Point Co

Fresh Point Co from Thailand will bring its popular aromatic young coconuts and fresh ginger shipped by sea into the limelight at Asia Fruit Logistica, alongside a selection of Thai produce from its Fresh Connect line.

“These are two core products with strong demand and proven export performance,” explains company director, Kitivat Vimonsombat, who says Fresh Point is on a mission to help people live healthier lives.

Such is the promise for coconuts that Fresh Point has invested in its own processing facility to assert greater control over quality and supply. “This has helped us meet growing export volumes while maintaining the standards our customers rely on,” Vimonsombat notes.

Supplying buyers across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, the globally-certified grower-exporter has branched out into additional value-added formats, such as ginger powder and fresh tamarind in a bid to satisfy consumer desire for healthy, natural, and convenient products.

Aomori Trading

Back to basics is this year’s theme for Aomori Trading which has exhibited at Asia Fruit Logistica since 2013. The group will solely display Japanese Aomori apples this year, as it builds on recent export success.

“Our goal is to steadily promote exports of Aomori apples,” reveals Hideo Obori, senior marketing manager at Aomori Trading, which works on behalf of multiple member companies to expand markets for premium apples and seasonal fruits grown in Japan’s Aomori prefecture.

In March, Aomori Trading sent fresh Japanese Aomori apples to India for the first time since the market opened officially in 2022, following in the footsteps of apple juice exports in December. The organisation also exported fresh Japanese Aomori apples to the US for the first time in 14 years.

Since launching in 2020, the ambitious grower-exporter has expanded its operations, product range, and workforce to 90 people. The business is growing 25 per cent year-on-year, says the firm’s director, Girish Sarda.

“Our grape operations kickstart in October on 30ha, which we plan to increase to 200ha in three years’ time across India’s major grape-growing belts of Nashik and Sangli,” Sarda explains.

“Since June, we are GlobalGAP-certified grower-exporters of vacuum-packed corn and Indian semi-husked coconuts. We are set to expand these two new products in Asia, Middle East, and European markets.”

Ecoplants will drive awareness of its advanced ethylene action inhibitor, Freshlong 1-MCP (pictured above), which is designed to preserve the field-to-fork quality of climacteric fruits, such as: apples, bananas, mangoes, avocados, and durians. “We are looking to meet potential partners who are interested in introducing and registering Freshlong 1-MCP in their markets,” points out Seokin Back, who is responsible for global sales and marketing at Ecoplants.

As climate-related challenges continue to disrupt supply chains, Ecoplants believes its technology offers a practical, science-based solution to reduce risk and waste, while offering greater flexibility in marketing windows, especially during unpredictable environmental conditions.

“Freshlong is a highly effective post-harvest treatment that helps reduce spoilage, maintain firmness and appearance, and significantly extend shelf-life during storage and transport,” Back explains. “Our booth will showcase its unique benefits for exporters, cold chain operators, and retailers in South-East Asia and beyond.”

Sunforest

Sunforest is eager to demonstrate the smart benefits of its field-portable Near Infra Red (NIR) Spectrometers, which were recently adopted by the Association of Avocado Exporting Producers and Packers of Mexico (APEAM).

The cutting-edge tool measures fruit brix, Pol, and moisture content in a non-destructive manner during production. Ongoing development is underway to enable durian pulp’s dry matter content to be measured by analysing the stem and rind spectra.

“Using a Sunforest device growers can gather accurate information about fruit sweetness, dry matter, and internal defects while the fruit is still hanging on the tree,” comments Jay Hwang, director of Sunforest. “It saves product loss, and provides a high working efficiency.”

The Korean company will draw attention to its Sunforest-Landkind app package at Asia Fruit Logistica. This enables users to connect their NIR device directly with the Landkind mobile app; allowing growers and packhouses to easily record and view their dry matter and Brix measurement results on digital orchard maps.
