García has 19 years’ experience in the company working across key departments
Miguel Ángel García Correa has been appointed as CEO of Granada-based Grupo Empresarial La Caña. The move is part of a planned and phased generational changeover process to reinforce the transfer of knowledge and values and ensure continuity of a business model based on innovation, sustainability, and commitment to people and the region, the company said.
García has 19 years’ experience within Grupo La Caña, working across key departments: from internal auditor and quality manager to deputy director of quality, production director, general production director, and operations director.
He has built up a comprehensive knowledge of the business, gaining an in-depth understanding of value chain management, business strategy, financing and logistics operations, as well as the importance of quality, innovation, and direct relationships with farmers, employees, and suppliers.
In recent years, he has held the position of director of operations and deputy general manager, coordinating the areas of production, maintenance, prevention, packaging, internal transport, digitalisation, and laboratory, while overseeing the company’s other functional areas, consolidating his managerial profile with a global vision of the company.
“His career has been marked by his ability to manage people, effective communication, negotiation, and goal-orientation, skills that have allowed him to successfully lead multidisciplinary teams and successfully navigate the company’s transformation processes,” La Caña said.
In his new role, García takes on the challenge of consolidating the company’s international presence in an increasingly competitive market, while driving innovation and the digitalisation of all production processes.
He will also be responsible for strengthening sustainability and energy efficiency as pillars of growth, ensuring the continuity of generational change by transmitting corporate values, and maintaining a firm social commitment to farmers, employees, and the local community, fundamental pillars of the company’s identity.
“I am eagerly, humbly, and committed to assuming this new mandate on the board of directors. I am confident that I will meet the expectations placed in me, with the support of a great team of professionals in the different areas of the organisation who make Grupo La Caña’s success possible every day,” García said.
The appointment is part of a planned generational change, in which the second and third generations of the family will continue to manage the company, La Caña said.
