Brand partners say they delivered continuous summer availability across European markets, with strong repeat purchase intent among consumers

Flat nectarine brand Ondine has reported a positive end to its 2026 season, with the product said to have maintained its premium market positioning despite challenging conditions for the wider stonefruit category.
This year’s campaign ran from late June until September, and apparently provided continuous availability through the core summer months to markets including Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, the UK, Spain, Greece, Belgium and Norway.
Additional hectares already planted as part of its licensed programme are expected to deliver progressively higher volumes in future seasons.
According to the brand’s partners, the fruit has been able to command a premium thanks to its flavour, crunch, juiciness, and convenience.
Consumer feedback has also been encouraging, they noted, and while there remains more to do in terms of brand awareness and getting consumers to try the product, consumers who have eaten it are said to be showing strong interest in repeat purchases.

Flat out in Europe
This time around, marketing efforts focused on Italy and Germany, Ondine’s two biggest markets, with a ‘Snack the Summer (anytime, anywhere)’ campaign reportedly generating more than 50mn impressions and various digital, social, retail, and in-store activities attracting more interest.
“The 2026 campaign worked on two closely connected fronts: supporting Ondine’s presence on the market over an increasingly long period and, at the same time, building value for the brand,” said the project’s Italian partners – Agrintesa/Alegra, Cico/Mazzoni, Greenyard, and Naturitalia.
“For a product that still has significant room to grow in terms of awareness, trial remains fundamental: this is why we worked on events, digital communication, creators, retail media and in-store activities.
“The feedback we have received tells us that, once consumers try Ondine, the product wins them over, and this represents a very important factor ahead of the production growth expected in the coming seasons.”

High hopes for the future
Alongside its consumer campaigns, Ondine expanded trade marketing activity in several key European markets, working with retail partners on tastings, promotions and dedicated in-store activations.
That programme forms part of efforts to increase both the breadth and continuity of the brand’s commercial presence as production expands.
“The 2026 season marks another step forward in the development of the project,” the partners said. “The production base has already been established and will progressively deliver new volumes over the coming years: the challenge will be to support this growth through an increasingly broad and continuous commercial presence and sustained investment in building the brand.”
They added: “Ondine’s ambition remains to become the European reference for premium flat nectarines, progressively helping to transform a product type into a category that consumers recognise.”
