Hattersheim-based packaging technology company has received positive feedback for its sustainable net packaging solutions unveiled at Fruit Logistica

Hattersheim, Germany-based Poly-clip System showcased its net-pak concept and new Somi net clipper at Fruit Logistica earlier this month.
The release of the Somi net clipper was described by the group as timely, given sustainable and practical packaging solutions continued to be a “major focus” in Berlin.
”The response from industry and trade has been excellent,” said = CEO of Poly-clip System.
”Sustainable packaging only delivers when it is reliable, flexible and operationally efficient.
”With net-pak, we offer exactly this combination – designed for practical use and suitable for a variety of fruit and vegetables,” he said.
Many discussions focused on the industrial compostability of net-pak components, the company noted.

”Circular solutions are gaining importance in the fresh produce sector,” explained Omar Olivas, head of the net-pak business unit.
“Industrially compostable components such as those used in net-pak can be recycled in accordance with standards and integrated into existing production processes.”
The new Somi net clipper attracted a ”great deal of interest”, Poly-clip System confirmed, with its ”compact design, automatic net tube change and powerful Poly-clip DC N3 600 clip module with up to 60 cycles/min enable easy integration into existing machines”.
”Poly-clip System demonstrated at Fruit Logistica 2026 that sustainable net packaging has now reached a high level of maturity,” added Giehl.
”Clip packaging is increasingly becoming a practical alternative to film or tray solutions.”
Overall, Fruit Logistica reflected an ”overall optimistic mood”, the group concluded, with interest in certified, industrially compostable solutions growing and many companies ”considering specific changes to their packaging systems”.
