Stemilt Growers has launched its newest apple variety, branded Rave, to the US market.
Bred by David Bedford at the University of Minnesota, the MN55 variety is a eoss between Honeycrsip and MonArk, harvested in Washington state from late July.
The early harvest apple – this first apple off the trees in Washington State – is being promoted by Stemilt as being a juicy, refreshing and zingy apple.
The bright red apple has been sold at select stores in the US since August, with limited volumes availble during its launch season.
