Fresh Produce giant Chiquita has announced that it is expanding its television campaign promoting bananas and own-branded convenience products in the US.

The commercials, which focus on bananas but also feature the group's Chiquita Pineapple Bites or Chiquita Apple Bites, feature the tagline 'Fresh Tastes Best' and have been running in 28 different markets since August.

However, the group is expanding the promotion to 40 markets, and is also adding online sweepstakes for consumers and a contest for produce managers and retailers to the campaign, The Packer reported.

To tie in with the marketing drive, Chiquita is also drawing attention to its websites, www.chiquitabananas.com and www.eatchiquita.com, which targets different demographics and offers a range of information on the group's products while also giving visitors the chance to win prizes such as a trip to Costa Rica.
