France-based container shipping company CMA CGM has announced that it has this week taken delivery of the CMA CGM Corte Real in South Korea, the group's third in a series of eight vessels named after great explorers.

According to the group, the 13,800 TEU vessel will join the Christoph Colomb and the Amergio Vespucci on the French Asia Line (FAL%) service, linking Asia with northern Europe.

'With this new 13,800 TEU vessel, CMA CGM Group continues to develop a state-of-the-art fleet allying modernity and competitiveness and allowing us to meet our customers demand on the Asia-Europe market,' said Nicolas Sartini, senior vice-president of Asia/Europe lines.

The vessel begins its rotation today (17 August) in Ningbo, before calling at Shanghai, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Klang, Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Port Klang and Singapore.
