Eddy Bruyninckx, CEO of Antwerp Port Authority, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award on Monday 17 November at a special ceremony in Rotterdam.
The title forms part of the IBJ Awards which are presented annually by the International Bulk Journal.
The Award recognises Eddy Bruyninckx' achievements over the past 20 years in developing the port of Antwerp into a world player, able to handle ships of all types and sizes, where cargos of all sorts find suitable logistics facilities and storage.
The award ceremony, held this year in the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam, will move to Antwerp in November next year.
“This Award is recognition for the entire Antwerp port community which after the deep recession of 2009 showed more than ever that it is able to deal with any challenge, thanks to the creative and dedicated people who work there,” declared Bruyninckx after receiving the Award.
