Darren Percy has been revealed as the new area sales manager and business development manager for Italy-based thermoformed packaging specialist Ilip.
According to the group, Percy has significant experience in the food packaging business, having worked for major European food packaging companies.
'I am enthusiastic about my new position with Ilip and I'm very much looking forward to starting work within this great team,' Percy enthused.
As area sales manager he will be responsible for consolidating and further developing the position held by Ilip in the fresh produce packaging market, while as business development manager he will be looking to open towards new markets in the foodservice packaging sector.
In addition to Percy's appointment, the company also announced the opening of a warehouse in the UK – a choice reflecting Ilip's 'philosophy of being closer to its customers supporting them with a better and more effective service', the group said.
“Ilip is investing on the UK market because we consider it as the most innovative and dynamic market for fresh produce packaging” commented Roberto Zanichelli, sales and marketing director at Ilip. “We believe that a stronger and more effective direct presence in the UK will enable us to collaborate even closer with UK retailers and packers and the new warehouse will help us to improve our service level.'
