Matthias Josef Gamper has stepped down as president of leading Italian apple consortium VOG, following 18 years in the role.
Mr Gamper is succeeded by Georg Kössler, currently president of the Cooperativa Fruchthof überetsch di Frangarto and with 31 years' experience in the apple trade.
Mr Kössler was appointed to the position of president for a period of two years.
