Agrexco dates

Israeli exporter Agrexco anticipates a 10 per cent increase in exports of its Carmel Barhee dates this season, to some 700 tonnes.

According to Agrexco, the dates are bigger, smoother and better-looking than ever, which it attributes to its “green” treatment protecting the fruit from pesticides and birds.

The export season begins in mid-July and is due to continue until the start of October. However, this year, the company says, the dates should be available early, giving them around two weeks competition-free.
