Italian trade fair Macfrut celebrates its 25th anniversary next week with the introduction of a dedicated hall for those operating in the fresh-cut convenience sector. In the first six months of last year, Italian retailers sold 29,000 tonnes of fresh-cut produce, up 3.7 per cent year-on-year, according to IRI InfoScan.

The annual exhibition and conference event, which takes place in Cesena on 17-19 April, will also see the debut of Macfrut International, a 300m2 exhibition area set aside for companies that are interested in taking Italian fresh produce exports to new markets worldwide.
