Auchan, the France-based retailer, has announced that its Spanish unit Sabeco SA has agreed to acquire supermarket chain Galerias Primero, Forbes has reported.
The move will see an expansion in Galeria Primero's operations, which currently stands at 81 supermarkets and 1,600 employees according to Auchan.
Sabeco is currently owned by Group Nozar and Caja Immaculada, and operates 127 outlets across Spain.
The financial details of the purchase were not revealed by either party.
