Nadine Tunley of apple and pear exporter Energie Fruitsis the new chair of Pipfruit New Zealand, replacing Ian Palmer who has retired from the board.

The announcement of her selection follows yesterday’s annual general meeting in Nelson.

'Those present at the AGM thanked Ian for his outstanding contribution to the industry as chair for the past decade, leading the industry during significant change,” said Pipfruit New Zealand chief executive Alan Pollard. “The new board has a great mix of representation, skills and experience. I am looking forward to working with them as we address the many challenges facing the industry and as we focus on our ultimate goal of achieving acceptable sustainable returns for our growers.”

The board for 2012-13 is:
