Discounter confirms £650m expansion and refurbishment plan with new stores opening across the UK
Discounter Aldi is set to open an average of one store a week between now and the end of the year, with new locations in Eastbourne, Chesterfield and Shoreditch.
The openings stretch across the UK, from Durham in the north east, Liverpool in the west, alongside locations in Wales and central London.
In addition to the new sites, 35 stores will undergo refurbishments with the retailer expected to invest around £650 million in the scheme during 2025.
“We’re now opening an average of one new store a week for the rest of 2025, showing just how ambitious our plans are to build a store network that will help us reach millions of new customers,” said Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK.
Aldi is also recruiting for 1,000 new store roles, with around 40 jobs created for every new opening.
