The Europeanfruits campaign hosted an evening in Warsaw focused on freshness, quality and safety standards

Agri-food sector professionals, journalists and opinion leaders gathered in Warsaw earlier this month for an informative event dedicated to fresh European fruits, held under the framework of the Europeanfruits campaign.
The campaign is co-financed by the European Union and implemented in Greece, Poland and the Czech Republic, aiming to bring fresh European fruits closer to consumers’ everyday lives.
The event took place at Mykonos Greek Restaurant & Bar in Warsaw and marked the first physical activity of the campaign in Poland, designed to create a direct channel of communication with media representatives and professionals from the food market.
During the event, the main pillars of the Europeanfruits campaign were presented, with a focus on the value of fresh European fruits, the high quality and safety standards that characterise them, and the importance of incorporating fruits and vegetables into daily diets as a key element of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Nutrition expert Klaudia Buczek presented simple and practical advice for maintaining a balanced diet, while Dr Spyridon Mamalis, professor of marketing and president of Elgo–Dimitra, highlighted the importance of quality and safety in fresh fruit production.
Athanasios Paschoulas, marketing project manager of Asepop Naoussa, presented the programme beneficiary and its role in promoting high-quality European fruits.
Key takeaways from the event included the fact that the consumption of at least 400g of fruits and vegetables per day is recommended; a variety of colours on the plate is encouraged to ensure the intake of a wide range of vitamins and antioxidants; fruits offer a natural and enjoyable way to stay hydrated throughout the day; and European fruits are produced and controlled under strict regulations, from the field to the final product.
