Regenerative agriculture specialist has expanded partnerships across 12 Peruvian production regions to deliver consistent supplies through December, with 30 per cent volume increase during off-peak months while maintaining EU pesticide compliance standards

FairFruit, a global champion of regenerative agriculture, has announced that it has extended its Peruvian snow pea and sugar snap availability after fostering further partnerships with producers “who grow in harmony with nature”.

Arrivals began by low-carbon sea transportation in April, and the company said that stable supplies will continue through the traditional September peak until the end of the year.

The longer season is a result of the company’s expanded presence across 12 diverse production regions in Peru after years of testing and development.

FairFruit said it has worked diligently to build long-lasting, respectful partnerships with Peruvian producers.

The group explained that it is enriching local farming practices via innovative regenerative agriculture methods, while empowering local growers and their communities with fair prices, dignified working conditions, and economically-viable crops.

“FairFruit is one of only two suppliers that can deliver early season snow peas and sugar snaps from Peru to Europe, and then reliably maintain consistent supplies of higher-quality product until the end of the year,” said Evert Wulfrank, CEO of Durabilis, the umbrella company of FairFruit.

”This season we have supplied 30 per cent more volume to Europe during the months we are not usually present with snow peas and sugar snaps.

“We are achieving top quality product across varying climate zones in Peru, ensuring satisfactory arrivals every time, and mitigating climate risks, such as El Niño,” Wulfrank continued.

”Furthermore, our deliveries are in constant compliance with European Union (EU) pesticide residue standards thanks to our strict agrochemical management system. This includes continuous sampling, technical assistance, and training programmes to drive improvements.”

As a company FairFruit is delivering value far beyond produce, according to marketing and business development manager Claudia Granados.

“At FairFruit we don’t just grow food, we grow futures,” stressed Granados, a Guatemalan native who has invested time in understanding the producer perspective while working locally on the operational side of the business.

“Together with our growers in Peru, Guatemala, and Ethiopia, along with our buyers in Europe we are cultivating a fairer, healthier, and sustainable world for all, supported by a resilient food system.”

FairFruit said it is on a mission to redefine what it means to grow fresh produce by inspiring positive change, with regenerative agriculture the cornerstone of a more sustainable planet, and business.

“By making regenerative agriculture the standard, not the exception, we are building a system that sustains the people, the planet, and the promise of tomorrow,” Granados outlined.

”In restoring soil health, conserving water, and fostering biodiversity, we are protecting the natural resources that underpin long-term prosperity.

”And our commitment to low-carbon logistics, including the use of seafreight, helps to minimise our environmental impact; proving that sustainable farming can scale efficiently and responsibly,” she added.

To guide its commitment to building a resilient food system, FairFruit has established a ‘Soul Story’ which sets out the company’s brand values and sustainability strategy.

Currently the business is upgrading its sustainability management system to align with the upcoming EU-mandated CSRD framework.

In the coming year, FairFruit will publish a sustainability report to measure the impact of its regenerative approach to agriculture.
