Rajpol CEO Dominik Wozniak reports on strong export demand and positive prospects for the remainder of the 2025/26 Polish apple campaign

The 2025/26 season is throwing up a different set of challenges for one of Poland’s leading apple suppliers, but the overriding feeling is positive heading into the second half of the campaign.

Dominik Wozniak, CEO of Rajpol, said that after heavy frost damage in spring 2024 and resulting shortages in the summer of 2025, this season has seen good quality and higher volumes.

“The apple crop in 2025/26 is about 15 per cent higher when we look at all of Poland, and it is the same at our Rajpol Cooperative,” he told Fruitnet.

“We notice that apple quality is good or very good. During the season there were some dry periods, and we were worried about apple sizes, but in recent years growers have invested a lot in irrigation and that has allowed us to produce good-sized fruit.

”In addition, nice weather in September and October gave the apples good colouration,” Wozniak explained.

Rajpol has seen strong demand for Gala apples, particularly in the Gulf, Latin America and India, attributed to the situation across Europe and other countries such as Turkey producing a lower crop.

“From November we noticed nice demand from Egypt and traditional eastern countries like Belarus and Kazakhstan,” he continued.

Domestically, the Polish market has performed well on apple sales – “maybe not excellent, but good enough” – and the country is now experiencing frost and snow, which Wozniak suggested could also be a driver of greater fruit sales in supermarkets.

“At the moment, we are optimistic about the second half of the season,” he added. “Apple and pear stocks are at a good level, which allows us to plan sales and supply our customers until the end of the 2026 season.”
