Huelva has seen a “moderate” increase in the volume of strawberries sold in the eleventh week of the 2025/26 strawberry campaign, but raspberry and blueberry volumes are down, just as the campaign should be getting into full swing.

The most recent report from the Prices and Markets Observatory of the Junta de Andalucía notes that although strawberry plants enter full production in March, the high environmental humidity resulting from a series of storms earlier this year has caused fruit rot that is forcing part of the crop to be discarded.

From week 10 of the campaign, Spanish strawberries and blueberries, along with raspberries, mainly from Portugal, had begun to enter markets like Germany and France “in small quantities” and were receiving “a good reception”, the report states.

In raspberries and blueberries, the report said that production volumes in week 11 were down compared to the previous week, just at the stage of the season in which production should grow exponentially.

Regarding the market, the report said that good weather is favouring consumption, prompting an increase in supply from Spain, Italy, Greece and the Netherlands which has pushed down prices.

The Observatory noted that supplies of raspberries and blueberries from Spain remain limited, with Morocco currently accounting for the lion’s share of fruit on the market.
