Limited ferry services have resumed between Dover and Calais following the suspension of a blockade by French ferry workers. However, the threat of further action remains.
The French and UK home secretaries announced their plan to meet in Paris to discuss the issue.
Thousands of lorries apparently continue to wait on the M20 in Kent, with Highways England predicting that the backlog would not be cleared until Monday.
The Port of Calais is currently restricting entry to one ferry an hour, while P&O said it would sail every two hours from Dover to Calais.
