Container shipping vessel YM Uberty has made her maiden call at the Port of Hamburg in Germany, as part of the AES-3 Europe-Far east service operated by the CYKH alliance (Cosco, K Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping).
The new vessel, which is owned by the Taiwan-based Yang Ming shipping company, has a carrying capacity of 8,200 TEU, and four new vessels with a capacity of over 7,500 TEU will be added to the service in the near future. These units are also owned by the Yang Ming group.
The deployment of these ships on the line signals the beginning of a series of upgrades to the service, which was previously served by four ships with carrying capacities between 4,000-4,400 TEU.
The port rotation for the AES-3 service is Hamburg - Rotterdam - Antwerp - Thamesport - Jeddah - Singapore - Shekou - Xingang - Qingdao - Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Singapore - Jeddah - Port Said - Hamburg.
