US company’s trademarked portfolio now present in more than 30 countries worldwide, with varieties including FCM12-205 and FCM14-057 grown at commercial scale in leading production regions
US company Fall Creek Farm & Nursery says it expects its Sekoya varieties to make up more than 20 per cent of the blueberries exported out of Peru in 2025/26.
The group’s trademarked portfolio is now grown in more than 30 countries worldwide, with varieties including FCM12-205 (marketed as Arabella Blue) and FCM14-057 reportedly now grown at commercial scale in several of the world’s leading production regions.
With international demand for premium eating quality said to be strong, the company will promote the varieties’ contribution to year-round availability across major markets at next week’s Fruit Attraction trade fair in Madrid, a development which it says has helped boost the category’s value.
According to Fall Creek’s new CEO Marc de Beer, Arabella Blue and FCM14-057 combine strong fruit quality with adaptability across multiple chill zones.
As a result, European retailers have reportedly “engaged early”, and growers are benefiting from the group’s expanded technical support and more localised expertise.
“Fall Creek is bringing meaningful advances to growers and the industry,” says de Beer. “I’m excited to join the team at Fruit Attraction, connect with blueberry leaders worldwide, and hear directly about their priorities for the future.”
