Yuksel Seeds has launched a new mini plum tomato, Pomeria, that offers a range of traits ”tailored to the key needs of the market”.

According to the group, the variety stands out for its earliness, high yield potential and a ”comprehensive” disease resistance package.

This includes resistance to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV), making it suitable for autumn, winter, and spring production cycles, Yuksel confirmed.

”Pomeria develops a vigorous plant with short internodes and an open growth habit,” Yuksel stated.

”Its very early production cycle enables growers to enter harvest quickly.

”The fruits are mini plum type, weighing between 12 and 16 grams, with an intense red colour, uniform ripening, and excellent firmness,” the seed specialist outlined.

”In addition to its outstanding flavour, the variety is designed for loose harvest and offers excellent post-harvest shelf life thanks to its thick, fleshy walls.”

The new variety also stands out for its resistance to fruit cracking and microcracking, Yuksel said, while maintaining a uniform fruit size throughout the entire crop cycle. I

”Its excellent fruit-setting ability ensures consistent and stable production, even under challenging growing conditions.”

Pomeria can be grown under a wide range of cultivation conditions and is particularly recommended for early plantings, extending its production window beyond the traditional autumn, winter, and spring cycles.

Yuksel explained that Pomeria offers resistance to ToMV, Va, Vd, Fol 0-1 and Ff A-B, as well as intermediate resistance to TYLCV, TSWV, Ma, Mi, Mj, Ss, ToTV and ToBRFV.

”With this launch, Yuksel Seeds continues to strengthen its tomato portfolio for the global market,” the group added.

”Pomeria joins the recently introduced Minizano and Tiziano, further expanding a product range focused on combining innovation, crop security, and commercial quality to meet the evolving needs of growers and marketers worldwide.”
