Latest selection includes unusual grapes, pink raspberries and purple vegetables
M&S has released a range of unique fruit and vegetables showcasing varieties selected for their distinctive colours, sizes and characteristics.
The retailer’s ‘Our Latest Discovery’ range has been developed to highlight new varieties sourced by its team of expert agronomists.
Among the new products are Bloombites Red Berry Grapes, described as the first table grapes in the world to have a deep red, skin-to-centre colour throughout. The grapes are available in 300g punnets priced at £3.20.
The range also includes watermelon radish (300g, £2.65), an heirloom variety with a mild, sweet flavour and distinctive pink centre. The 300g bags retail at £2.65.
Another addition is British pink blush raspberries, which are distinguished by their striking pale pink colour and naturally sweet flavour. They are priced at £3.20 for 150g.
The retailer has also introduced a selection of purple vegetables, including purple broccoli, priced at £1.85 for 300g, and purple cauliflower available at £2.10 for 800g.
M&S is also highlighting unusual sizes, with baby aubergines, baby fennel and baby leeks available in 150g packs for £2.65, and baby beetroot in 250g packs for £1.25.
At the other end of the scale is a 3kg king cauliflower, priced at £2.40, and a 680g pack of king figs retailing at £6.
The retailer said the range is designed to showcase new and distinctive varieties and give shoppers the opportunity to discover different forms, colours and flavours of familiar fruit and vegetables.
