The 14th International Blueberry Conference will convene on 5-6 March in Ożarów Mazowiecki, Poland

The 14th edition of the International Blueberry Conference will take place on 5-6 March at the Mazurkas Hotel in Ożarów Mazowiecki, Poland.
This year’s conference will take place in a two-day format, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, the event organiser said.
Leading off with conference sessions on 5 March, the focus will be on the latest trends in blueberry cultivation, market changes, and key challenges facing the industry in the coming years.
On 6 March, the outdoor field sessions will provide participants with the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on knowledge directly in the field.
”For years, the conference has brought together leaders of the blueberry market, including growers, fruit buyers, exporters, and suppliers of innovative cultivation and technological solutions,” the event organiser noted.
”It is a unique platform for exchanging experience, inspiration, and building valuable business relationships. That is why it is worth being there.”
Topics up for discussion are pollination, yield management, varietal development, fertilisation and irrigation control, technology, shelf-life, and challenges for further development of the business in Europe.
Speakers include Monika Bieniasz of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Paweł Krawiec, of Horti Team, Stanisław Pluta from the Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice, Stephen Taylor of Winterwood Farms and Polskie Jagody’s Dominika Kozarzewska, among others.
Poland is currently one of the key players in the global highbush blueberry market, and with more than 13,000ha of plantations, the country is a European leader and ranks fifth globally in terms of cultivated area.
While Spain leads Europe in terms of total blueberry production, Poland stands ninth globally with annual production estimated at 63-66,000 tonnes.
