Commercial director Adam Sikorski says the Polish berry and stonefruit packaging manufacturer has expanded warehouse capacity and is targeting growth in Arab markets while developing new technology solutions to meet evolving retailer and consumer demands

SoFruMiniPak 500 EV+ grape leaves packaging

Adam, where has Sofrupak’s focus been this year?

Adam Sikorski: 2025 is another very busy year for us. We have ten trade fairs and conferences planned for this year, and our production is running at full speed. This year, we took delivery of a newly built warehouse, making it easier for us to work and expand in the near future.

How are your packaging products performing?

AS: We specialise in packaging for berries and stonefruit. We produce several types of packaging, and our leading product is the biodegradable SoFruMiniPak packaging from the EcoView+ series. This packaging has integrated lids featuring a large window, and a smaller one on the side, both made of cellulose film.

We have been producing this packaging for several years, but it has improved every year. The current model has a new lid closure system, making it more difficult to open accidentally.

Our clients include producers of strawberries, blueberries, cherry tomatoes, grapes, Mirabelle plums, and others in the EU market, primarily from France, Spain, and Germany.

Due to our strong international expansion (beyond the Polish market), we have achieved year-round production, which we are very pleased with. With a production capacity of 250,000 units per shift, a lead time of up to 3 weeks, and a minimum production quantity of 50,000 units, we can meet the expectations of a wide range of customers.

What new innovations are exciting you?

AS: In the 2026 season, we will be offering the first ’smart’ packaging with an NFC chip on the market. We are implementing this innovative business project together with our partner Agro Contracts. We are currently testing the application of these chips to our packaging.

This project, along with the entire IT system, aims to facilitate fruit harvesting and warehouse documentation for fruit producers, as well as product tracking from field to shelf for supermarkets and consumers.

Thanks to this innovative solution, we will be the first on the market with such advanced packaging that meets the expectations of supermarkets implementing the new EU regulation on Digital Passport Product (DPP).

Which new markets hold the greatest potential for your packaging?

AS: This year, we began selling to Arab countries and see great potential there. Arab customers are willing to pay well for top-quality fruit. To stand out with the quality of the fruit on the store shelf and attract customer attention, the best way is to use our eco-friendly and colourful packaging. I predict a trend of increasing sales in this market in the coming years.

What do your customers demand from your products?

AS: Next year, we will be celebrating our company’s tenth anniversary, and with this experience, I can say that all of our customers are environmentally aware and aware of the rapidly evolving market trends related to this.

Sofrupak is a well-known manufacturer of eco-friendly packaging in Europe, so the customers who come to us already know the quality of our packaging. They’ve seen it in supermarkets or local markets, or met us at trade shows and conferences, so they’ve had it in their hands and know what they want.
