Rijk Zwaan has released a video outlining the findings of a trial it conducted with Botany, aiming for energy reduction in the cultivation process.

In the trial, Botany researched the impact in greenhouses of low CO2 concentration and less ventilation on cucumber production.

Rijk Zwaan participated in the trial by testing different cultivars and sharing their expertise.

“Many growers worldwide are affected by increasing energy prices, making it an important topic within the industry,” said Marcel van Koppen, crop coordinator Cucumber at Rijk Zwaan.

”As a vegetable breeding company, we collaborate with research companies such as Botany in finding innovative ways to support growers to face this challenge.”

The video offers an initial look at the trial, with final results to be presented by Botany on 8 November.
